Welcome to the InsuResilience Annual Forum 2023

For the sixth time, the InsuResilience Annual Forum brings together the Partnership and the broader resilience community to drive joint action on Climate and Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance (CDRFI). This year’s edition of the Annual Forum is titled Paving the Way for the Global Shield against Climate Risks.

Since its inception in 2017, members of the InsuResilience Global Partnership have facilitated the roll-out of innovative solutions across the globe and brought the importance of pre-arranged finance on the international policy agenda. However, the global CDRFI architecture remains fragmented and the uptake of solutions slow, while losses and damages from climate change keep mounting.

The Global Shield against Climate Risks, a joint initiative between the V20 and G7, addresses these challenges by providing more systematic, coherent and sustained financial protection to climate-vulnerable countries. It builds on the variety of financial instruments tried and tested under the InsuResilience Global Partnership. The Global Shield will apply systematic and evidence-based analyses of protection gaps to design, fund and implement integrated packages of CDRFI, based on the principles of national ownership and coherent in-country coordination.

The Annual Forum 2023 aims to enable policymakers, CDRFI experts and civil society representatives in and outside the Partnership to inform themselves and discuss about ways to become active under the Global Shield. In a series of engaging sessions, participants will get a chance to exchange with other practitioners, take a closer look at the Global Shield’s governance and financing structure and explore linkages to related topics such as Anticipatory Action, Loss and Damage finance or financial inclusion.

Following the conclusion of the event, participants are invited to an evening reception hosted by the Global Shield Solutions Platform to celebrate its official launch.

Provision of the website and creation of log files<br><br>Each time our website is called up, our system automatically collects data and information from the computer system of the calling computer.<br><br>The following data is collected in this process:<br>\u2022\tInformation about the type of browser and the version used.<br>\u2022\tYour operating system<br>\u2022\t- Your IP address<br>\u2022\t- Date and time of access<br>\u2022\t- Referrer URL (the previously visited page)<br><br>This data is also stored in the log files of our system. This data is not stored together with other personal data of the user.<br><br>The legal basis for the temporary storage of the data and the log files is \u00a7 25 para. 2 no. 2 TTDPA. The temporary storage of the IP address by the system is necessary to enable delivery of the website to your computer. For this purpose, your IP address must remain stored for the duration of the session. The storage in log files is done to ensure the functionality of the website. In addition, we use the data for technical optimization of the website and to ensure the security of our information technology systems.<br><br>The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected. In the case of the collection of data for the provision of the website, this is the case when the respective session has ended.<br><br>The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of the data in log files is absolutely necessary for the operation of the website. Contact<br>When contacting us (e.g. via contact form, e-mail or telephone), we process your data for processing the contact request and its handling. Otherwise, the legal basis for the processing of this data is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR, in particular in the event that the data is transmitted to us by you by sending an e-mail. Insofar as you wish to work towards the conclusion of a contract by contacting us, Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR represents an additional legal basis.<br><br>If we provide a contact form on our website, the data you enter in the input mask is transmitted to us and stored, e.g. inventory data (e.g. names, addresses) and contact data (e.g. e-mail, telephone numbers)<br><br>In addition, we record your IP address and the time of submission. The processing of personal data from the input mask serves us solely to process the contact. If you contact us by e-mail, you can object to the storage of your personal data at any time. In such a case, the conversation cannot be continued.<br><br>4. Registration for events <br>You can register for events on our website. In the course of a registration process, we process your data for the purpose of providing contractual services, billing, delivery of products and customer services.<br>4.1 Registration process<br>For the registration to our events we use our participant management, a multi-event tool for guest management. When you register for an event, we process the following data, among others: Salutation, first name, last name, position, e-mail, company, company name for the name badge, street, zip code, city, country, menu selection (vegetarian, vegan). <br>4.2 Purpose of processing, storage period<br>The processing of this data takes place for the purpose of being able to identify you as our contractual partner and for processing your order. The data processing is carried out in response to your order and is necessary according to Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. b DSGVO for the stated purposes for the fulfillment of the order and the pre-contractual measures.<br><br>The personal data collected for the order will be stored until the expiry of the legal warranty obligation and then automatically deleted, unless we are obliged to store it for a longer period of time according to Article 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. c GDPR due to tax and commercial law retention and documentation obligations or you have consented to a storage beyond this according to Article 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a GDPR.<br><br>Furthermore, you can voluntarily provide additional data - beyond that required for the provision of the order (such as: Title, e-mail CC, company 2, guest comment, menu selection (lactose, gluten-free, no fish + seafood) or similar).<br><br>In addition, the data processing is carried out on the basis of our legitimate economic interest pursuant to Art. 6 para.1 lit. f DSGVO for the purpose of ensuring a smooth and easy processing of your order, the efficient handling of any queries, for the needs-based design of our offers, for product information and for customer care.<br><br>5. Data protection at events<br>5.1 Photo\/Film<br>We would like to point out that photographs and video recordings may be made during events. These recordings may be published afterwards in various media (print as well as online media and social media channels).<br><br>The legal basis for the recording of photo and video material is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f, 85 GDPR in conjunction with \u00a7\u00a7 22, 23 KUG. The photo and video recordings are made for the purposes of reporting, marketing, public relations and informative presentation of our commercial services. In these purposes also lies our legitimate interest in the data processing. The publication of individual recordings is intended to take place indefinitely, which is why selected photos and videos are kept for an indefinite period of time for specific purposes. Other photos and videos will be deleted as soon as they are no longer necessary to achieve the purpose of their processing.<br><br>If you do not wish to be photographed, please signal this clearly to the photographer. You can object to this data processing in justified cases at any time, e.g. by sending an e-mail to the above-mentioned contact options.<br>5.2 Lists of participants<br>We would like to point out that we may compile participant data such as name, function and company on participant lists. These participant lists may be used for the purpose of exchanging information among participants as follows: Issuance or display at individual events or also retrievable as a download in password-protected user areas on the homepage and in password-protected user areas in event apps. The legal basis for the issue or display of participant lists is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest in data processing also lies in the aforementioned purposes.<br><br>In justified cases, you can object to this data processing at any time, e.g. by sending an email to the above-mentioned contact options.<br><br>6. Use of cookies<br>Our website uses cookies. Cookies are text files that are stored in the Internet browser or by the Internet browser on the computer system.
